Title

An evaluation protocol has been adopted at “Li Ning Basketball Camp 2009” with a selection of 38 of the best young Chinese basketball players (U18)

Preface

The evaluation protocol was based on the following tests: 1) Counter Movement Jump (CMJ), free arms 2) Stiffness test (7 jumps, free arms) 3) Monopodalic (5 jumps, left and right) 4) Sprint test on 5m (analysis of the management of the first two steps and speed)
One webcam has been placed in rear position. All the players have been evaluated and the database has been exported to an Excel spreadsheet in order to be evaluated via Pivot Tables. The results have been divided by athletes’ role and grouped by data type. This approach gives the possibility to detect “critical” situations in a very efficient way

Considerations

From the Height Chart we can easily notice that player #13 has a considerable difference in the monopodalic jump between right and left. By analyzing the videos, we can see a completely different attitude of the left leg that every time it pushes has a strong rotation. At the same time, the body weight is charged on the opposite leg.
